Biomaterials multi-site certificates

All our Biomaterials Business Area pulp mills: Enocell, Skutskär and Sunila are now part of new multi-site certificates of Biomaterials together with the sales office in Amsterdam. The process for multi-site certification started in late 2012 and the audits were conducted during April and May 2013.

The new issued certificates can be found in Stora Enso certificates page and cover the following areas:

- ISO9001
- ISO14001
- FSC Chain-of-custody and
- PEFC Chain-of-custody.

The multi-site certification process is one step in unifying our processes and procedures at the mills. The multi-site will unify the targets e.g. for the environmental performance and give possibilities to define focus areas where improvement needs are detected. “We believe that looking at our mills more as one entity will enhance our performance for instance in environmental matters and safety. Safety is one very important focus area to us and we keep on working towards our zero accident target”, says Kirsi Seppäläinen, Head of Communications and Sustainability, also responsible for the multi-site certification. “And through unifying our processes we clearly see possibilities to enable us to serve our customers better”, she concludes.
