Dissolving pulp is a specific type of wood pulp characterized by its high cellulose content, high level of brightness and uniform molecular-weight distribution.
Our Pure dissolving pulp is used by our customers in the production of viscose fibres for the textile industry. Our product represents a traceable source of raw material with a very low environmental impact over other sources in the industry: lower water requirement compared to cotton production, a sustainable advantage over polyester and a lower land requirement over wool production.
Our production facility
All our grades are produced in our Enocell mill
, located next to Joensuu in eastern Finland.
The wood we use
To make our dissolving pulp, we use birch trees coming almost exclusively from Finland and western Russia.
Our product's sustainable advantage
All our dissolving pulp grades are traceable and coming from sustainable sources. In Stora Enso, we have set ourselves an ambitious goal for our sustainability performance, both on environmental and social aspects, and we have received international recognition for our work.
